A few minutes later, and I was thoroughly lost in the cacophony of the loud, fast-tempo tunes that filled the entire dance floor.
I soon found myself moving to the heady sound of the music and trying to find my footing while I spinned on my axis.
Arms flailing around, I tried to enjoy the exhilarating sensation coursing through my entire body.
I was halfway drunk, my tequila glass empty, and with the music pulsing in my ears, I felt somewhat invincible in my shadowy world.
This was a lot of fun. It was pure bliss. To be able to laugh and dance freely. To completely forget everything that had happened in the previous few weeks, or even earlier today—the incident with Robert in his office and... cringe.
I could forget about everything here. Forget the anguish and hurt, the frustration and regret. Forget about a dark-haired man who plagued my senses in the worst way possible.
