Gennie melted into the chair, arms folded over her stomach as she anxiously tapped her boots against the tiles on the floor.
She had signed the forms the nurses had given her earlier and now was just waiting for her name to be called.
Her mind went back to yesterday and how she had managed, somehow, to cough up an apology after Cecil convinced her.

Now she was at the hospital for an abortion of the mess she had put herself into, waiting for her turn. Her heart drummed with a weird, steady beat, but her chest was locked tight.
