Chapter 39. Stupid Moves

After what I said yesterday, and how I acted, I was relieved to see her come out of her room. To see her celebrating her birthday like she should have on her past birthdays. I have watched how she radiates with awkwardness every time we give her a gift. It is clear she was never given gifts, and has no idea how to celebrate her birthday or how to act around it. It's something I hope to help push her out of, so all her birthdays from now on can be enjoyed fully, without her feeling like she needs to hide.

Maybe giving her a present for every year of her life was too much, but she needed showing how amazing she is and what birthdays should be like. It took a lot to plan everything, and I honestly thought I fucked her birthday after what I said and she locked herself away.

I know it is still there, somewhere in her mind she will be thinking about what I said, so all I can do is hope that today proves to her she is amazing and part of us, part of our family.
