Adeline POV

I stare wide eyed as the realization hits me like a ton of bricks. I try to calm my breathing as my chest begins to rise and fall at a frantic pace. “W-why? You drugged me with wolfsbane! How could you?”, I shout and shove my finger into his chest. “Why would you drug me with wolfsbane? Are you trying to kill my wolf?”, I ask as the words continue to pile out like word vomit. Wolfsbane is illegal in most packs, it’s incredibly dangerous to shifters but I still, I can’t say it’s my first dance with it. I was lucky that my wolf wasn’t poisoned last time.

Alpha Christian stares back at me, void of all expression. He runs his fingertips across my jaw as his eyes stare at my lips. I know he’s delirious with lust, the playboy is fighting to hold himself back. He leans closer until his lips are inches from mine, “what was needed to be done has been done. You are mine now Adeline. Don’t make me remind you of that.”
