I stripped my body of Alpha Jaxon’s jersey blue t-shirt and the red flannel pajama bottoms that Sophia had given me, turning on the water in the shower. A thud came from the bedroom, I realized that someone was knocking on the door. Impatience trembled through my consciousness, my groggy body eager to stand under the warm water flowing through the shower head. I desperately wanted to ignore the noise when the knocking became louder and more demanding. I knew if I didn’t answer it, there was a high chance whoever was there might just break down the door.
