Harper’s POV
My eyes stay fixed on the edge of the mirror above the sink, but my mind isn't really in this room anymore. It keeps circling back to Theo, to what he said earlier, to the way his voice shifted when he told me pain was pleasure for him. Not a metaphor. Not a joke. Just a simple fact, spoken casually, like he was talking about his favorite drink.
He likes it. The pain. My pain.
The thought should scare me, and for a flicker of a moment it does. But then it twists into something else entirely, something hotter.
