Patrick Banks POV

I wasn’t sure if I was ready to let go.

I had invested so much time in our marriage. We always talked about our future together and we had so many plans.

But suddenly, everything came crashing down.

At some point, I tried to second-guess my decision. Did I really have to give up on my marriage, or should I have given her a second chance? Was I doing the right thing?

I knew that it would hurt as hell, that was why I was grateful when she asked me to hold on for a week. I wasn’t sure I was ready to close our chapter completely.

Even if I didn’t act like I was thrilled about it, I felt slightly relieved.

I just wanted things to be different.

My heart hurt every morning whenever I woke up to an empty bed. We lived under the same roof but barely spoke to each other.
