Steven’s POV

Upon hearing Celine's line, the previous peace that had settled over my heart was abruptly jolted once again.

"Pregnant? Summer is... pregnant?" I asked in disbelief.

She gave a silent nod, but the depths of her gaze couldn't quite hide her inner turmoil. I could sense that she didn't want to talk about it, so I hastily looked away and left her in peace.

Nonetheless, before I vanished from her sight, she spoke again. "Uh... Mister Carter, please don't worry. Summer and the... baby... are not harm. The doctor simply has to tell you something that you need to know right away."

She looked at me now with a reassuring smile, and I could see she was confident. The weight and thorns that had penetrated my hearts had now slowly been removed.

"I am grateful to you, for staying with Summer since the beginning, Celine. I owe you a lot."

"No thanks are necessary. Summer is near a
