Summer’s POV

“Steven, it's time for you to head home. Why can't you believe me when I am telling you I am fine?” Amber urged again.

Reality hit me like a ton of bricks when I heard Amby's words to Steven. I stole a quick look at him, feeling the anticipation in the air as I waited to see how he would react to her.

Steven cast a glance at Brandon, who was standing to his side, instead of saying anything to Amby. His face was set in a serious expression, and his eyes were icy and uninviting.

“What happened to Amby? Did you investigate it?” Steven asked and my heart felt like it was being squeezed and half into two. His face was etched with worry for Amby, more so than when he looked at me.

Amby stared incredulously at Steven, shaking her head in amazement that he was being so obstinate in front of her.

"Yes, Mr. Steven. I found out that the man behind the chaos is—"

“Froilan Hernandez invited me to have dinner w
