Summer’s POV

As I glanced into the VIP room Steven had given to Amby, I felt a sense of grandeur; the walls were covered in intricate gold leaf. Her room was orderly and tidy, with plenty of space for visitors. Perhaps this was how Steven Carter cared for the woman he cherished deeply, keeping her safe from harm.

My husband would make sure her sweetheart had everything she needed to be as comfortable as possible during her recovery. To him, the million dollar cost of the hospital per day was a worthwhile investment if it meant Amby would recover.

Hailey looked at Amby and angrily stood up before she spat, "Don't you dare do something, Summer, because I will make sure you will regret it!"

Hailey was seething with rage and glared at me before storming out. The reverence she had for Amby was so great that she would follow her instructions, even if she didn't like them.
