Summer’s POV

My heart was beating so fiercely like a stampede of horses galloping through it. With every tick of the clock, I could feel my breaths becoming shallower and faster while my palms were becoming slick with sweat.

As I watched the doorknob turn, my heart burned with anticipation. Slowly, the door creaked open, and I braced myself for what was to come. But then, as I saw who entered the room, it was as if a hundred thorns were suddenly plucked from my chest.
