Chapter 30. Forever and Probably Never
“I know, but I need to find Mark first. Who knows what he’ll do in the state that he’s in, and I cannot bear to see him broken.”
“I understand. But I’m sure he’ll need some alone time. Obviously, he’s not going to do anything stupid, but he’ll need time to process everything and let the whole thing sink in.”
“I’m really worried about him, but you’re right. I’ll just focus on making sure everything’s settled here and maybe mobilize the men to repair the house or something.”
“Yeah, you do that, honey, and I’m sure he’ll be grateful for that.” The Luna smiled at her.
She spent the rest of the day helping the people clear the place. If only she could turn back the hands of time, maybe, just maybe, the events of the past days would not have happened. Maybe he would still be alive. But then, in a way, it was good it all happened; at least now she knew where they stood in all this.
The war had ended, and now they could focus on healing and making good memorie
