June's POV
I blinked at him. “Why?”
He lifted his hand from my thigh and took my wrist in it before dragging my hand over to his chest and placing it over his heart. “I have the same feeling, here. It’s supposed to relax when our bond is settled.”
“Why?” I asked, fascinated. Neither of us made an effort to remove my hand from his chest.
“It’s the part of us that aches for a pack. Not a big one, like the one my friends are a part of. That doesn’t satisfy a Sigma. What we want is one person. A permanent companion.”
My chest seemed to squeeze. “I don’t trust men.”
“If you trusted me already, I’d be concerned by your judgment.”
