Chapter 26

Emily’s POV

I must get the necklace back at all costs! I had taken a picture of Melina, secretly, of course, to show it to Andrew.

I’m cooking dinner for tonight’s party. Guests had already arrived.

When I’m done, I go upstairs where I hear Melina talking on the phone.

“What?”

“What was she doing there?”

“Shit! Why did she have to go eat in that damn restaurant!”

“We must stop him at all costs! If she ever talks to him, she’ll know the truth!”

“If she tries to see him again, kill her!”

Frightened by what I had just heard, I backed up and bumped into a piece of furniture. I hear Melina’s footsteps heading to the door, so I run as fast as I can down the stairs to get to the kitchen. Luckily there were guests, so she wouldn’t suspect it was me who came up.

I was so scared of what I had heard. I didn’t know Melina could be so evil! She is the devil! I couldn’t believe what I had heard! She said to kill someone! But who?
