Emily’s POV

A few minutes later, Hugo finally calms down. I really want to know what he has to say.

“You’re okay?” asked my sister to her boyfriend.

He nods and sighs. “You must stay away from her at all costs.”

Andrew frowns and says, “Away from whom?”

“Away from Louise Clark. She’s dangerous, believe me.”

“If she is dangerous, why were you with her?”

“I had no choice.”

“We always have the choice.”

“Shut the fuck up! I had no choice. Otherwise she would have killed my…” He immediately shuts up as we freeze.

Am I dreaming or did he say kill? Who? Why?

Elisa breaks the silence, “Did you say kill?”

“No, forget what I said.”

“Tell me, Hugo!”

“No! The only thing I want is for you to stay away from that crazy old woman!”

“This crazy old woman, as you say, is in fact my mother.”

Hugo stares at us both with wide eyes. “W-what? Mother?? Is that your mother?”

“Yes, unfortunately.” I whispere
