Chapter 200. Like a Pet
Bethany walked down the stairs heavily and tiredly with a lighted cigar, slightly irritated by the persistent sound of the bell at the door.
“I said I will be right down, what the hell,” she swore the last statement under her breath, wondering who had the nerves to disturb her already disturbed day. Yes, she was disturbed. She had been disturbed every single day since the release of Maxwell and it had been damning.
She opened the door with a frown on her face, ready to lash out at whoever it was on the door. But her face fell back a bit when she saw who it was.
“Why are you here?” She asked Kiekie who also wore a frown on her face.
“I can leave if that is the problem,” she blurted back.
“You know that is not what I mean,” Bethany waved, her expression softening. “Get your fat ass in.”
“Good afternoon is a simple courtesy everyone should know,” she replied instead. Bethany moved away from the door, dragging herself back into the house.
