This door stays closed

Isabel’s POV

The moment I see her at the door, everything in me tightens. Roy and I exchange a glance, silent but telling. His brow furrows slightly, and he leans closer to me, his voice low but firm.

“We’ll talk later,” he says, eyes flicking toward Sabrina, then back to me. “This looks like something you need to handle.”

He brushes my arm gently before stepping aside. I nod faintly, my gaze locked on the woman standing a few feet away like a ghost from my past who doesn’t know she’s not welcome.

Sabrina steps into the room with cautious grace, eyes sweeping slowly over the space as if expecting someone else to appear. I stay quiet, watching her every move, and as she takes another step forward, a small scoff escapes me. 

I murmur under my breath, almost to myself, “Unbelievable. Lately, I’ve been getting more surprise visitors than I care for. First, Aria—begging for a second chance, desperate to be part of my and Roy’s wedding. And now this? Sabrina?”<
