Aria

The moment we step into Lucas’ room, he slams the door shut so hard I swear the damn walls shake. His gray eyes are locked onto me, his jaw tight, his whole body practically vibrating with anger.

“What the fuck was that, Aria? How could you make a decision like that without me? How could you?”

I blink at him, already regretting my choices. “Lucas, please calm down…” I reach for him, but he backs away like I just burned him.

“Don’t, Aria.” His voice is low, pissed as hell. “I’m fucking mad at you right now. Why did you do that?”

I sigh, running a hand through my hair. I could tell him the truth…that I need answers about my parents, even though I don’t trust Mark and Jane, but I know Lucas. He’d freak out and tell me to let it go. And I can’t.

So, I lie. “I did it because of you.”
