Chapter 6

Amber’s POV

It was nearly impossible to leave the house unnoticed! I did, however, sneak out and go to him. Dale was surprised to see me and dragged me into his office, closing the door behind us. I was supposed to confront him right away, but when he looked at my eyes, I seemed to lose track of the reason for my visit. My heart skipped a beat when he smiled, especially when he licked his bottom lip in front of me, tempting me, and I couldn’t stop myself.

“Come here,” he said, and he embraced me tightly without warning. He then kissed my hair. Wasn’t it overly sweet? “Did you think about me?”

In response, I nodded my head.

“I miss you as well,” he admitted, “but I was still disappointed when you refused to elope with me.”

“I’m sorry,” I said, but when I looked into his eyes, I was instantly smitten. “You have no idea how much I’ve missed you,” I said, before conquering his mouth to show how much I missed him.

Dale cupped my face and kissed me pass
