"Can I kill him now?" he asks me.

"No. But you can lock him away like you did with Damon and torture him every damn day." Lexcis doesn't seem satisfied with that idea but he nods. For my sake.

"We need to let Aceso see you. He needs to tend to your wounds. They'll get infected. Lexcis, lean on me, let's get you up."

"Calm down. He doesn't punch as hard as he used to." He says it with a soft smile but that's the thing that makes me lose it entirely.

I burst out into tears. I wrap my arms around his neck and even an entire army won't be able to pull me away. I cry my heart out and tell him how sorry I am that he had to go through that.

It's not like I could've changed anything but fuck.
