Chapter 77. Keeping Them Safe

"To begin with, you belong to yourself. People cannot have you. Your heart, mind, and soul, on the other hand, belong to me." I say, gently caressing her hand on my cheek.
"All the broken parts of me, huh? Why?"
"You can fix what is broken. I want to be the one who helps you with that. Who knows, maybe you can help me along the way."
"You are quite the romantic, your majesty."
"It is you who makes me that way, darling."
I can tell she wants to kiss me because she leans in, but she doesn't. I can no longer keep my eyes open; they are closing. It is a mix of being sick and her smell that makes me feel so strangely at ease.
"I am sorry I cannot get rid of those memories for you. If I could, I would." She murmurs, gently brushing her fingers through my hair.
"And I am sorry I could not help you."
"What do you mean?" I beg you.
