Chantel unexpectedly moves her hands to the front, cutting the rope around her legs, before she quickly gets up and releases me as well. She looks at my jaw-dropped expression and says, "I'm an assassin. You're a soldier. We have different skill sets." she explains with a smile. I cupped her cheeks and kissed her forehead before I got up, following her lead.

"Lexcis," she whispers, and I smile at her. "What?" She furrows her brows at me, quickly glancing at the room to make sure that we're still alone.

"I love the way you say my name."

She smirks at me, brushing her hand over my chest in a playful manner. "Idiot." She chuckles. "Okay, come on, we need to go."

My darling slowly opens the door, keeping it ajar as she looks out. "No one's guarding the entrance." She grabs my hand, tugging me behind her. "Follow my lead, okay?" she whispers as she looks at me over her shoulder.

"You don't have to ask me that twice, baby." I smirk, a
