Chapter 8

After the open conversation and a nice sleepover with Gabrielle, Danica woke up to jog. As much as she wanted to keep her situation to herself, her heart felt much lighter after sharing her miseries with her best friend. She only managed to get a half an hour’s sleep while Gabrielle didn’t sleep at all; she was busy checking whether she packed everything or not.

Danica went to her room, and surprisingly, she saw Aziel sleeping peacefully, holding Troy. Troy was sleeping in her room, in her bed, with her younger brother.

A smile took over her face, staring at the two of them sleeping peacefully together. No wonder why Aziel didn’t come to me at night in fear, thought Danica.  He called Troy. They must have bonded a lot overnight.

Trying not to make a noise, Danica went to the closet room to change into her tracksuit. As she was about to get out of the room quietly, her heart jumped in fear at hearing an alarm clock ringing. It was coming from Troy’s phone.
