Evelyn’s POV
“You’re a monster! You’re a sick monster!” The words tore from my throat. My whole body was trembling, as I fought against their hold.
“You don’t love anyone but yourself!”
But no matter how much I fought, no matter how fiercely I struggled, they didn’t let go.
And there he stood—my father—smug, triumphant, like a king who had just conquered a kingdom.

I just wanted him to wake up, to move, to say something.
