Chapter 30

Claire’s POV

“Where’s Luke?” Jasper asked. I didn’t want to tell him where Luke actually was, so I lied.

“He’s busy,” I said, and he nodded.

“Can we talk about us?” Jasper looked at me and dropped his paintbrush. I sighed, knowing this was coming.

“No, please,” I said. I didn’t want to talk about us. We were over. I didn’t want to bring back what was done.

“Please, Claire. Hear me out,” he pleaded. I decided to walk out of the room, but he followed me. I went out of my house so if he followed me, I could lock him out of the house.

“I’m in a relationship with Luke. Can’t you respect that?” I said, annoyed.

“You don’t love me anymore?” he asked, almost pleading.

“What we had is over. I am never going back to my ex,” I stated. I took the chance to get inside the house and close the door.

Good thing Jasper didn’t knock or try to enter my house to talk to me. As I looked out the window, I saw him walking away, looking so stress
