“You said it was a fight…” I felt dizzy all of a sudden.
When I saw that it was nothing more than an argument, I had to hold on to the wall to keep from fainting. I imagined it would be a fight with punches, swords, all that happens when there is a very big conflict. When I saw that it was only Fabricio arguing with Karl, I calmed down.
“But Your Highness, you don’t know…” the guard murmured.
I stepped aside so we could talk with a little more privacy. The man looked older, in his fifties or maybe more. He had a kind expression. He had left with Jacob and Fabricio for Karl’s village. From the look on his face, I could tell he was a friend of the count. He was surely loyal to him and had been his guard for many years. Just as Lion had been to Jacob.
“Yes, I understand that they have a great enmity,” I swallowed hard. I already knew that well. But I was not willing to go and meddle in a simple argument like a snoop.
