The air was getting warmer and thicker. The temperature in this village began to rise. Or maybe it was the tension, because arguments were never a pleasant thing, at least for me. Because in a fight you sometimes meet your own demons.
Jason followed me to where I told him to talk. It was a small room in the doctor’s cabin itself.
“They agreed to give us this room until we leave. We’ll have to make do here until we have to leave.” I explained that he wasn’t there when I spoke to the lady who owned the place and was very kind to let us stay.
He looked at me with those worried eyes I sometimes liked and sometimes hated.
“It’s just… We should leave right now.” His tone was almost accusatory.
I was annoyed. I crossed my arms and grimaced in disagreement.
“Are you going to leave Marielle here alone?” I asked, my tone getting stern.
