“I don’t expect you to understand.” Larry’s words began to resonate like an echo in the forest.
The interrogator stood before me. He had his daggers and sword hanging from his belt. Which was ironic because he didn’t need them.
“I understand that you decided to leave.” My response surprised him, I could see his expression of annoyance at having been caught before he fulfilled his goal of sneaking out and leaving.
I knew he was going to leave, hours ago. He hadn’t accompanied me to interrogate the people of the kingdom, nor was he present in the other investigations I carried out. And that was strange for him. He never missed an interrogation.
