Chapter 443. The Carriage
DOVE
I rode one of the tamest mares so that it would not be difficult for me to ride so hastily. The soldiers who were with me would have to go ahead if I went too slowly. Being pregnant, I couldn’t go as fast as the others.
I had to risk it on a particular path. There were several paths on which they could be taking Karl. I sent my soldiers through them all. But I had to choose only one.
I would have to obey my intuition. And my intuition guided me along the narrow path that was the crossroads for merchants to trade. The path was quite crowded with merchants and they, seeing me, began to bow.
“Justice for Lord Karl,” one of them began to say aloud.
They were bowing to me, but that didn’t stop them from clamoring for justice for their esteemed lord. At least in that, Karl seemed to have done a good job. Everyone seemed to like him, no one tolerated his death.
“He will have it,” I said to each of them who cried out for justice.
