“Lucre, what are they saying?” the grandmother began to ask, unable to understand what was happening.
Lion even unsheathed his sword. I didn’t wear my crown on my head, although it gave me a little more strength; I needed that severity that Jacob had if I wanted people to start talking. Carmen grabbed my hand discreetly, whispering carefully.
“I think you’re overreacting; they’re just civilians, the people…” I let go of her and looked back ahead, staring at Lucre coldly.
“Tell me what you know because I know you’re hiding something,” I said, with a commanding voice and a strong gaze. Jason looked at me amazed; I didn’t act like this often, but Clarisa needed me in that way. I didn’t have time to talk patiently.
“I’ve already told you, Your Majesty, don’t let yourself be carried away by these classless plebeians…” Lucre was in the chair, sitting with her arms crossed. Lion held her back; she couldn’t escape even if she tried.
