Chapter 95. Scouting
“All rise!” the registrar echoed to the hearing of the people.
As the judge takes his seat. The registrar ordered the court to sit as he calls out the cases. “The City of New Orleans vs. Lucas White.”
The judge requests the lawyer of the plaintiff to identify himself. The plaintiff opens his case first. He has witnesses ready to testify against the defendant.
What congressman Styles keep telling the press was that Lucas came for retribution and have succeeded in killing his son. He told the press it was wrong for Lucas to take laws into his hands. He has vowed with the blood of his son that Lucas will never escape the wrath of the law for killing his defenseless son, Jack.
The evidence presented by the plaintiff’s lawyer points to Lucas being the killer. The jury has reached their verdict and now the judge is about to pass the judgment. Lucas was terrified of what his fate would be in the prison away from his family and friends.
