Chapter 55. Banging Headaches
RUBY
I woke up with a banging headache and my mouth feeling so dry like I had been chewing sand. I was afraid to open my eyes but I bravely pried one eye open and then the other when I found that the blinds in my room had been closed shut. "My head," I groaned.
"She lives," Sapphire jested.
"God, I'm never drinking again," I said. I held my head in my hands and attempted to get up gingerly.
"The biggest and most common lie ever told." She handed me two tiny tablets and a tall glass of water which I accepted gratefully.
"What time is it?" I asked, relaxing on the headboard.
"I don't know exactly but it's way past noon."
"I must have had quite a night yesterday?" I asked tentatively, not knowing how to ask if I embarrassed myself and how bad it was. Everything after leaving Toby's parent's house is blacked out.
