Chapter 14. Hope for a Better Tomorrow?
Laurence freshened up and joined them at the dining table after sometime. “Well, I would go away to France this Monday. It’s a two month-long trip and it could take me longer too. We’re expanding to all the major cities and setting up a production house in Paris,” he informed them, and Lisa listened to him with dismay. Without him around, she couldn’t stay at his apartment. Her mom would drag her back downstairs.
“Then I could go to my dad's house till you return,” said Serenity. Lisa listened to them quietly. Now she had to come up with a convincing plan to escape her parents.
“Yes, why not?” said Laurence as he looked at Lisa. “So Lisa, how are your studies going on?”
“Fine bro.”
“I have a headache. I’ll go upstairs and rest,” said Laurence, excusing himself from the table after finishing his soup and steak. They nodded at him quietly. Lisa couldn’t tell him about the music classes even though she wanted to. Afterwards, she retired to the room Serenity had
