Chapter 71. An Escape

[Nadia’s POV]

I sit and wait, staring at my door, until the one responsible for bringing my dinner appears. When they do, I put on my most pathetic face and watch as they lower my tray and then proceed to unlock my wrists so that I can actually pick up food.

Once I’m free, I take advantage and attack, pulling the weapon I was given and slashing it across the guard's throat. As she falls, I reach out and grab her head, then twist it, snapping it cleanly before she gets the chance to alert her friends.

Smirking, I start to search her until I find her keys so I can unlock my ankles, and once I’m free, I quickly pull off her clothes and put them on.

“Thanks, sweetie." I giggle, blowing a kiss, before grabbing her hat and pulling it on my head so that my face is covered. “Your service is greatly appreciated.”

Giving the woman one last look, I begin to move, closing the cell door behind me so that no one will realize what happened too quickly.
