The drive was pretty silent. I guessed that Sam didn’t like my decision to go home, or my lack of belief in love, but that was the least of my worries. I spent most of the journey staring out of the window, but I wasn’t taking in anything that was flashing before my eyes. All I kept picturing were all of the pack’s faces, their laughs, their voices. I couldn’t believe I’d been so selfish, leaving them alone to come away with Sam. If I’d gone back days ago, this wouldn’t have happened. Hell, I should never have left at all. We'd driven for hours and finally pulled off the main road and on to the dirt track that led up to the cabin.

“Stop the car, Sam,” I screamed out when I heard a loud roar coming from the woods.

“What? No, you’re not getting out Freya, it could be a trap.”

“Sam, I’m serious. Stop this fucking car!” I screamed out and ignited my hand in flames to let him know I was serious.
