Damien sat back in the chair beside my bed.

“Dad, where's Tristan really?” I asked hoping what Mason said wasn't the truth.

“Oh, Evan took him and the others to the diner down the street, they can't come in here because of all the hunters,” he replied not bothering to look up at me. I think he was using it as an excuse, he didn't like the wolves much either.

“So why can't they come in exactly?” I asked in an aggravated tone.

“Most of the hunters aren't strong enough to control themselves around them, they would rip them apart as soon as they stepped foot into the house,” he replied bluntly.

The way he said it, with no feeling or anything, it seriously pissed me off, so I snapped at him,

“Are you fucking kidding me?” He finally lifted his head to look at me, and raised an eyebrow as if to say, 'what did you just say?'
