Chapter 46. Give You Time

Amelia’s POV

Richard had always been the type to obey father and do exactly as he said, he claimed he knew best because he had been in the game for a really long time so to hear him say that it didn’t matter what father thought about Sophie, he was going to marry her, I realized that father could be right and she had truly brainwashed him.

“The first day we met Sophie, she said some things that got us all thinking. She said you didn’t want to be with us and always wanted to get away. She knew everything about us and even made a remark about my last marriage. Did you tell her all those things and is it true that you don’t even want to be with us?” I inquired and he shrugged.

“Maybe or maybe not.” He responded before he walked away. It was clear he didn’t want to provide an answer to that question and didn’t want me to take it any step further.
