Chapter 52. The Wolfsbane Scent
Celeste’s POV
Nora darted after Lucen, and Cira pursued Nora, while I, Celeste, chased after Cira… What an absurd chain of events. We’d formed a wild, three-tiered pursuit through the forest, each of us focused on someone just out of reach.
Nora paid no heed to Cira’s insults as she sped onward. Meanwhile, Cira kept yelling over her shoulder, lobbing spiteful barbs at her cousin.
“This is exactly why Lucen kept his plans from you! You never take the logical path—you always charge in headfirst, doing whatever you fancy without a second thought! It’s reckless, stupid even! There’s not a shred of hope for your survival if you keep this up. Just turn around and go back to the village where you belong! You can’t outmatch Lucen, and you can’t save that human boy! Are you even listening, Nora? I swear I’m only saying this for your own good! Stop foolishly risking your life!”
But Nora just kept flying forward as if she couldn’t hear a single word. Exasperated,
