Leon’s POV
As if the relentless nightmare of my own impending death weren’t horrifying enough, I discovered an even crueler blow: Lira had escaped. I crouched by the shattered window frames where she’d broken free, the jagged glass glinting like spilled starlight. From the pattern of the breaks, I knew exactly who had set her free.
“Seline!” I howled, voice ripping through the silent village. Without a moment’s hesitation, I shifted into my wolf form—muscles coiling, fur sprouting in a rush of pain and power—and tore out of our settlement.
