Chapter 63. Caught and Punished
A pale crescent moon shines with the blanket of stars creating a terrific panorama throughout the darkness of the night. Clover felt motivated to work back on the bar, seeing shooting stars pass above her, and wished everything would be okay in the end. She included Syd in her wish and hoped he was fine and wasn’t caught for not showing himself at their last meeting. That night, she was still oblivious to his predicament. Shaking her head, she entered the bar, and within a few minutes of preparation, she started working. Clover smiled and hid the problem she faced before her shift.
“Two bottles of beer, please! And one lady drinks, darling!” yelled one customer sitting on the front desk’s bar chair.
Clover wiped her hands with the towel and stood in front of the customer with the marvelous smile their manager always told her to do to captivate the customer’s attention.
