Chapter 22. Finger Crossed

Peter POV

Lizzy and Eva drive me crazy.  They grumbled all the way home, cursing Leora with various harsh words that were and weren’t in the language dictionary. 

My mother was no better.  Even though she looked quieter, every now and then she would also nod and confirm Eva and Lizzy’s words so that they became even more enthusiastic about cursin. 

“Shut up!” 

Finally I shouted at them, because I couldn’t take it anymore.  My ears really hurt hearing their overlapping words. 

Lizzy slapped my thigh hard, so the car almost swerved because I was shocked and momentarily lost control of the steering wheel. 

“Lizzy, WHAT THE F*CK!”  I snapped angrily.  “You want to cause harm to all of us?”
