“Your mother did it, baby, I swear. She’s disliked me since we got close. She said I was too poor to be your boyfriend. She didn’t want you to have a hard time having a poor boyfriend like me.” 

I stared at the man in front of me with my heart feeling like it was being squeezed by an invisible hand. It’s my mother who ruin my relationship with him.

“I rejected Felicia many times when she started approaching me. But, that bitch was really shameless and kept sticking to me like a leech. When I threatened her to kill her, when she kissed me, she just laughed and said that her goal had been achieved and she would soon get a lot of money. Your mother gave her money to seduce me and misunderstood you.” 

Really, I felt very hurt hearing Elton’s story, which he told with wet eyes. His grip on me tightened and I could feel the overflow of his emotions.
