Chapter 127. Fateful Day

Jasmine was looking through a crack in the curtain when John stopped the car in front of the house where they lived. She realized it wasn't the old Civic, but a Rolls-Royce Droptail, and also that John had stepped out of it elegantly dressed in clothes he obviously couldn't afford on his salary. She turned away from the window, went downstairs and met him coming through the living room door.
