She looked at the door and walked over to it, touching the handle. The door opened. She wasn't trapped. Could she get down the stairs and out of that place without them noticing? And if they did? What would happen? She looked at the trunk. One thing was certain. She couldn't leave wearing that see-through sweater. She opened the trunk and there was only one dress inside. The same one she had gone to bed in, but it was clean. She put it on over her nightgown and went out into the corridor. There were many doors. All of them open, letting her realize that the room she was in was the only one devoid of luxury and personal touch. It was also the smallest. She smiled to herself. “How filial!” She thought sarcastically. She found the staircase, but she wanted to keep going, as she realized that there was another wing to the house, and that it must be very large.
