Giovanna stared at him for a moment.

"No." Giovanna said and moved towards the door, and Hektor gave way.

The man who worked for Luc took her back to the hospital.

She entered the room with her suitcase and his parents had already left. But there was a woman kneeling next to him. She was wearing desert clothing. Giovanna took a deep breath and went inside to tidy up her things in the metal cupboard. She was distracted by the task and just when she thought the woman should have left, she saw Freya's watery eyes. She tried to ignore the pang of longing she felt. She looked at Freya, crying, with a cold but compassionate gaze. Freya approached her slowly and hugged her.
