Chapter 149. Coincidences

Giovanna sat back thoughtfully and began to remember her life. Everything she'd been through to get away from Luc... No. That wouldn't do. The explosion that took her parents away from her... No more. It was weak. She remembered her wedding, and her fury blazed in her eyes and the pain subsided. It was still there, but totally manageable. So she would use the right memories of her wedding whenever the pain was too much. Now, with the drink, she could hardly feel it. She couldn't even remember Luc's face properly. Her thoughts were completely scrambled.

She got off the plane drunk, but still able to hail a taxi and leave for her apartment. She was relieved. She didn't have to run away from Luc ever again. She just needed to have two apartments in different places, because the years would go by and people would wonder why she didn't age or die. So she would put on make-up to look older for as long as it was enough not to raise questions about her.
