Theo listened to everything in silence, and while his face was intent, as if he were listening seriously to everything she was saying, he smiled inside. He would never know the story the way she saw it, because she had always been too proud to share her adventures, and believed that no one but him would ever know.

"Are you sure you've never been to this forest? Or any of your relatives?" Giovanna asked after she had finished her story and silence reigned in the room. She could hear the sound of cars passing like ships below. The building had 12 floors and she was surprised that she could hear the cars from so high up.

He seemed to wake up from his thoughts.

"No. And if any of my relatives have ever been to this forest, I wouldn't be able to say either, I don't even know if I have any relatives. Not by blood."
