Smith had seen the obvious attraction between Teddy and Fiona, and he was getting a little dislike for the bubbly woman.
“Hey, Fiona,” Teddy replied, and Smith simply waved at her.
“Surprised to see you here,” Smith said as she sat on the stool beside Teddy and ordered a shot.
“Well, I like to come around after the day’s work and see how I can cool off a bit,” she replied with a smile.
“I didn’t figure you as a bar person,” Smith said.
“Neither did I,” she replied with a laugh, gulping her drink in one fluid move.
“So, what have you boys been up to?” she asked, her tone casual.
“Well, the usual, I guess, trying not to get too choked up with work,” Teddy replied.
“Nice, it’s a good place here. I discovered it a week ago when I was in bad need of a cold bottle of beer. I can’t believe you guys knew of this spot and would not tell me about it,” she said and ordered her third shot.
