Chapter 29. No One Else
I wince in pain, but I don't fight his tight hold on me. I wanted to ask him if he was okay, I wanted to ask him if John was fine. I don't know if he had hit him again, because I was forced to leave the club and return to the limousine.
But I couldn't
I didn't know if he would take the questions the wrong way and assume my concern for John meant more than it did. His face was impassive, his mouth set in a thin line.
"What is he to you Aella?"
"Nothing, I don't feel anything for him."
"You always let people you don't feel anything for touch you like that?"
"No" I wiped at the tears streaming down my face. "I was going to push him off me."
