Ever since the day Maverick had met her doe eyes and angelic face, he’d been in a daze the entire month–the whole if he was being honest. Ever since that incident two years ago, he was not himself anymore. Guilt, regret, resentment, loneliness, rage, furry and whatnot. Emotions complying and complying. There was no relief. He couldn’t keep his meetings straight. Now when two years after if he had found her, why couldn’t he tell her?
Reaching up to her face he brushed the stray hairs off her face exposing the red cheeks that reminded him of cherry blossoms. Just like in the spring sky, aloft to the blue above, the cherry tree wands became the sweetest baby pink.
Grace caught her breath. His touches couldn’t have been bold yet gentle. His fingers were warm, and wouldn’t be surprised if her heart was fluttering. She shuffled to escape his hold making Maverick press his body closer to her and pressed his lips to the back of her neck. Grace stiffened, pausing.
